Message from the Chair
What an honor to follow the footsteps of such a rich history. If it wasn’t for the Urban League of Metropolitan Denver, I would not be who I am today. I was a youth leader that grew into a community leader when the respected Board and Mayor Michael B. Hancock lead this great organization. There were many giants who poured into me, so to be able to serve and revitalize ULMD is a privilege I do not take lightly.
To serve with such a remarkable group on this Executive Board, I am excited to enter 2025 with a strategic plan and goals that will affirm ULMD is a foundational pillar in the Denver Metro Area and all of Colorado. We intend to provide services, collaborate, and support efforts in education, youth, jobs, entrepreneurship, housing, wealth building, health, wellness, and justice. Implementing this through thoughtful partnerships while raising the funds to provide quality programming is our first priority. This Executive Board is a fresh, hands on, and collaborative board that has a collective vision and we are willing to do it together. As a Board-led affiliate, our second priority is to raise the resources to find the right CEO to support who will take ULMD into the future courageously. Our final priority is to raise our membership by 25% every quarter for the entire year of 2025.
Join the movement by getting involved with our tremendous Young Professional auxiliary. Get involved and lead our Guild auxiliary! Volunteer, attend, engage, like, follow, and share all of our social media.
